About Me:
For over 30 years, Platinum Record Producer and multi–Grammy-nominated composer John Alevizakis—known to many as ‘Jon Jon’—has guided countless artists in bringing their musical visions to life in ways that resonate deeply and thrive in the marketplace. In the 1990s, he founded Little Buddha Studio, which has since operated in NYC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and now in the scenic Northern California town of Nevada City.
Often described as a “musical midwife,” Jon Jon’s passion is transforming an artist’s song into a fully realized production that amplifies its vision, channels its emotional power, and creates a seamless harmony between the artist’s voice, personality, message, and audience.
With over 400 albums to his credit, Jon Jon has had the privilege of working with artists at every stage of their careers—ranging from undiscovered gems to internationally celebrated icons. His collaborations include legends such as Donovan, Willie Nelson, Yungchen Lhamo, Maria Muldaur, Hassan Hakmoun, Steve Jenkins (Third Eye Blind), Buckwheat Zydeco, Dela Rise, Omar Faruk, Ross Daly, and Tina Malia, among hundreds of other extraordinary talents. His work also extends to high-profile commercial projects for clients including Sesame Street, Dole, Netflix, Putumayo, Mary Kay, and Dr. Andrew Weil.
Jon Jon’s productions have also earned Gold and Platinum record sales, climbed into the Billboard Top 10, and received multiple Grammy nominations.
Finding Our Sound:
Each artist carries a unique voice and message that is theirs alone. Our work together is to uncover and shape that essence—discovering how production can amplify and empower it. Whatever the style of music, the goal is the same: to create recordings that communicate authentically, resonate deeply, and connect with other souls in a meaningful way.
Recording & Equipment:
Little Buddha Studio has everything needed to capture world-class recordings in a comfortable, relaxed environment. You’ll find premium microphones from Neumann, Telefunken, AKG, and others; high-end preamps from Universal Audio, Neve, and Summit Audio; plus a wide array of guitars, amps, drums, and world instruments—all ready to bring your music to life. But as much as we gear-heads love the equipment, it’s only the paintbrushes and palette. The real magic comes from the canvas we create together—the vibe. That’s why we prioritize a supportive, encouraging, and inspiring atmosphere, where artists can feel safe to explore, experiment, and truly express themselves.
Mixing:
Whether it’s remote mixing for projects already recorded or mixing in person, this is the stage where everything comes together. Think of it like the editing room in filmmaking: you have all these “shots” (or tracks, in our case), and the art lies in arranging them so they complement one another and tell a cohesive story. It’s where nuance, balance, and emotion emerge—and it’s one of the most exciting and creative parts of the process.
